What You Will Do:
As a Planner, Technical, this position is based in Dartmouth and may require occasional travel to other operational centres within the Eastward Energy franchise. Reporting to the Supervisor, Construction Services, you will perform a variety of tasks to support the customer attachment and sales processes. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting site meetings with customers to design and locate facilities in accordance with technical standards and codes;
- Reviewing of development drawings and incorporating design of natural gas infrastructure into proposed buildings;
- Estimating service line costs and preparing customer proposals;
- Completing regulatory applications and liaising with stakeholders to secure permits and land rights;
- Issuing work order packages;
- Providing construction field support and responding to construction crew change requests; and
- Interacting with customers and responding to technical sales inquiries.
What You Will Need to Succeed:
This position has the following occupational requirements:
- A technical diploma in a relevant discipline, such as NSCC Architectural Engineering Technology or Construction Project Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- The ability to work a hybrid role of both office and field work with a company provided vehicle.
- Strong computer knowledge and skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

- Previous experience in utilities or ICI construction with ability to interpret architectural, site, and civil drawing sets.
- Demonstrate strong initiative and excel at managing your tasks independently, while also thriving in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong ability to identify issues, think critically, and resolve problems efficiently, with a proactive approach to finding solutions.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and are highly organized.
