ABOUT THE ROLE
As a SLEDGE Foreman, you'll oversee crews, coordinate logistics, mentor team members, work alongside your crew, and ensure every project meets the SLEDGE standard.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Leadership
- Lead demolition crews on commercial and residential projects
- Manage daily production and schedules
- Delegate work and coach team members
- Maintain a positive, professional jobsite culture
- Communicate with project managers, clients and the office team
Safety
- Lead daily safety meetings
- Complete Daily FLHA documentation
- Conduct toolbox meetings for each project
- Ensure company safety policies are followed
- Maintain clean, organized jobsites
Operations
- Transport tools and equipment to and from jobsites
- Organize equipment and materials
- Coordinate daily project requirements
- Report project progress to management
- Ensure projects stay on schedule
Demolition
- Perform selective demolition alongside your crew
- Complete advanced demolition tasks
- Perform plumbing and electrical disconnects and make-safe procedures where required
- Assist with structural and complex demolition work
- Maintain the high-quality workmanship SLEDGE is known for
Please note: Hazardous material remediation (including asbestos and mould) is completed by specialized crews before demolition begins.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
- Previous demolition experience
- Experience leading crews
- Valid First Aid Certification
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
- Ability to safely transport tools and equipment
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Ability to lift and perform physically demanding work
- Commitment to safety and professionalism
Strong Assets
- Experience as a Foreman
- Crew Lead experience
- Project Management experience
- Commercial demolition experience
- Residential renovation experience
- Construction leadership experience
- Post-secondary education in construction, project management, or related fields (not required)
HOURS
Monday–Friday
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Weekend and night work are uncommon but may occasionally be required.
COMPENSATION
Starting Wage: $38.00/hour
Starting wage is negotiable based on experience, leadership ability, education, certifications, and overall qualifications.
