Position
Senior Accounting Technician (Full-Time)
Core Responsibilities
- Managed full-cycle accounting for multiple clients, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance.
- Performed complex bank and credit card reconciliations, prepared trial balances, and generated accurate month-end and year-end financial reports.
- Ensured compliance with Canadian tax regulations through the preparation and filing of GST, PST, T4, and T2 returns.
- Reviewed and analyzed financial records to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Led and mentored junior bookkeepers by providing training, reviewing work for accuracy, and supporting professional development.
- Served as the primary escalation point for client and vendor inquiries, resolving issues efficiently while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
- Supported month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Maintained compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Diploma, Degree, or higher education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of Canadian local accounting experience (required).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; experience with QuickBooks is highly preferred.
- Detail-oriented, responsible, and highly organized.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Language: English, Chinese (Preferred)
