QUALIFICATIONS
- A High School / High School Equivalency Diploma
Recognition / Consideration will be given to the following:
- Certification in a related field (Community Support Worker, Disability Studies etc.)
- Basic Skills Training/Foundations in Community Disability Studies
- Directly related experience
BONA FIDE OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Vulnerable Sector/Criminal Record Check free of convictions related but not limited to abuse
- Current Intermediate First Aid / C.P.R. Certificate OR certificate to be obtained within the first sixty days of employment
OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Safe vehicle with capacity to carry passengers
- Minimum $2,000,000 Liability coverage on personal vehicle insurance
- Driver’s Abstract

JOB DUTIES
- Support individuals to access programs and activities within Horizons Centre and the Community
- Support individuals to develop and enhance employment skills that will be utilized in their employment position
- Support individuals in contract and community employment positions to build natural supports and independence
- Ensure the focus in each activity/program is working towards the individual’s goals
- Facilitate opportunities for learning that promote independence, self-advocacy and community inclusion
- Understand and promote rules and guidelines for health and safety
- Support individuals' physical and emotional well being
- Complete all documentation as required
- Perform all job related functions in a manner which respects the confidentiality and privacy of the individuals and agency
- Facilitate, participate and follow through with special projects, committees and/or additional duties as required
- Operate personal and/or agency vehicles responsibly and with caution
- Comply with agency policies and procedures
- Participate in all mandatory training requirements
