Accounts Receivable Agent for a temporary opportunity in Edmonton, AB. This role is ideal for an experienced accounts receivable professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building strong customer relationships while managing collections and resolving payment issues.
In this position, you will manage a portfolio of customer accounts, oversee collection activities, resolve billing and payment inquiries, and collaborate with internal teams to support timely cash collection and an exceptional customer experience.

Employment Type: Temporary Contract (Urgent Backfill) with the possibility of extension
Responsibilities
-
Manage daily collection activities for an assigned portfolio of customer accounts, prioritizing efforts to maximize collection results.

Monitor account balances, identify overdue accounts, and follow up on outstanding, unapplied, or unidentified receivables.

Communicate with customers through phone, email, and other channels to ensure timely payment.

Lead customer dispute resolution by working closely with Sales and internal departments to resolve billing errors, pricing discrepancies, invoice issues, and payment inquiries.

Identify significant credit risks and escalate concerns to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor and Sales team when appropriate.

Build and maintain positive customer relationships while supporting long-term customer satisfaction.

Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve collection processes and resolve customer concerns.

Maintain accurate and detailed records of collection activities, customer communications, and follow-up actions.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support collection objectives and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications

Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.

High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is considered an asset.

Minimum three (3) years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or a related finance role, preferably within a corporate environment.

Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and basic accounting principles.

Excellent customer service, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.

Experience managing an accounts receivable portfolio and achieving collection targets is preferred.

Commercial collections experience is considered an asset.

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is an asset.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace is preferred.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.

Professional, proactive, and customer-focused approach.

Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset.
