As a lecturer in Laboratory Techniques (Biotechnology), you are responsible for transmitting your knowledge to students, designing course content and evaluating learning. Among the skills and concepts taught are:
- Cell biology, genetics and microbiology;
- General, organic and analytical chemistry;
- Biochemistry and molecular biology;
- Instrumental analysis techniques and quality control;
- Cell cultures, bioprocesses and fermentation;
- Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), WHMIS and Biosafety;
- Mathematical and statistical tools applied to biotechnologies.
Status: Contract - Laboratory Techniques (Biotechnology) Programme - 210.AA.
Location: LaSalle College - Montreal Campus and/or Laval Campus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan class sessions;
- Deliver courses in a dynamic, efficient and structured manner;
- Design formative and summative assessments according to the competency-based approach;
- Correct evaluations and provide feedback to students;
- Offer personalized follow-up and promote academic success;
- Be available to meet the educational needs of students;
- Participate in the continuous improvement of the program and departmental activities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, microbiology, biology, chemistry or related field;
- Two (2) years of relevant experience in the laboratory or in the biotechnology sector;
- Mastery of instrumental analysis, cell culture, bioprocess and fermentation techniques;
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), WHMIS and Biosafety;
- Have taught a full course in the last five (5) years (asset);
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs and applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, etc.) as well as generative artificial intelligence (AGI) tools;
- Fluency in the French language (oral and written);
- Proficiency in the English language at a professional level (oral and written).
This role involves frequent interactions with internal and external customers and partners on a national and global scale. Professional proficiency in English is therefore a requirement for this role.
