Piping Designer Responsibilities
Duties will include:
- Coordinate the activities of assigned engineering projects.
- Collaborate with the project managers to create more efficient project methods and maintain the project’s profitability.
- Project support work for design basis, budgets and schedules.
- Develop 3D piping models using plant design software
- Produce 2D piping layouts and detailed drawings
- Generate isometric drawings from 3D models
- Prepare plot plans and equipment arrangements
- Route piping systems per P&IDs and specifications
- Ensure compliance with client and industry standards
- Perform basic stress awareness and flexibility considerations
- Coordinate with structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines
- Review vendor drawings for piping interface requirements
- Update models and drawings per project revisions
- Participate in model reviews and design meetings
- Check drawings for accuracy and completeness
- Assist in material take-offs and MTO generation
- Support development of piping specifications and line lists
- Resolve design clashes using 3D model reviews
- Incorporate redlines from senior designers or engineers
- Maintain drawing registers and document control standards
- Provide field support during construction as required
- Communicate technical issues to Senior Piping Designer
- Work independently while receiving senior guidance

Qualifications
- Drafting Certificate from an accredited institute
- 5-10 years of relevant design/drafting experience in consulting and/or Energy environment
- Must have experience working in Cadworx
- Experience in Plant3D is preferred
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and changing setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Desire to learn and develop professionally
- Ability to attend site visits and meet safety requirements
- Work well with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
