Birdseye Cabinetry is a small, well-established custom cabinet shop based in Nanaimo. Since 2010 we've built a strong reputation across mid-Vancouver Island for exceptional quality and outstanding client service. We're looking to add a skilled, experienced cabinetry installer to work alongside our team on custom kitchen and cabinet-refacing installations.
This is hands-on, in-home work that calls for real craftsmanship — angled cuts, scribing, precision detailing, and the ability to read and interpret layout renderings. You'll install base and wall cabinets, valance trims, and moulding, and you'll be trusted to deliver a finished result that reflects our name. Responsibilities
- Install cabinets with precision, following design plans and meeting client expectations.
- Use proper installation techniques and materials to achieve durability and a high-quality finish.
- Read and interpret detailed layout drawings to guide the installation.
- Safely and efficiently handle heavy materials and equipment.
- Work with the team to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- Keep a clean, organized, and professional work environment in clients' homes.
What You'll Need
- Solid carpentry skills and the ability to handle a range of installation tasks.
- 3+ years of professional cabinet installation experience — this is a requirement, not a preference.
- Measurement accuracy to 1/16th of an inch (essential).
- Confidence reading and interpreting technical and layout drawings.
- Your own hand tools and a reliable vehicle.
- Physically able to lift heavy objects and stay on your feet for long periods.
- Strong attention to detail and sound problem-solving instincts.
- A reliable communicator who can work independently on-site and collaborate with the team.
- Basic understanding of plumbing and electrical as it relates to cabinet installations (an asset).
- Red Seal certification or a carpentry apprenticeship (an asset).

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
