Position Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our Evening Shift team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing first-off, in-process, and final inspections of precision-machined components to ensure all products meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and AS9100 quality requirements. This position is ideal for someone with strong metrology skills and experience inspecting high-precision machined parts in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections of precision-machined components.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications.
- Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment including: Micrometers, Vernier calipers, Height gauges, Bore gauges, Thread gauges, Optical comparator/profile projector, CMM equipment
- Prepare First Article Inspection (FAI) reports.
- Complete final inspection documentation and product certification packages.
- Review material certifications and inspection reports for compliance.
- Identify, document, and investigate non-conforming products (NCRs).
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Ensure calibration records and inspection equipment remain current.
- Maintain accurate quality documentation in accordance with AS9100 requirements.
- Support production teams by resolving quality-related issues while maintaining product integrity.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of quality inspection experience in a precision machining environment.
- Experience inspecting aerospace, defence, nuclear, or other high-precision machined components.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.
- Proficiency using precision measuring instruments.
- Experience with CMM inspection (MCOSMOS or similar software) is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality systems is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
Successful candidates must be eligible to work within a Controlled Goods Registered facility, including completion of the required security screening and police background check.
