Seeking a passionate and driven individual to offer support to the human resources department with general administrative duties as well as health and safety initiatives. The successful candidate will have the ability to understand and abide by operational procedures and uphold company standards. The successful candidate will assist with record keeping and documentation of various human resources and health and safety programs as well as other assigned tasks and projects.
This is a Full time, Permanent position (Monday through Friday 8am – 5pm).
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- supporting all aspects of recruitment process including constructing job postings, pre-screening resumes, scheduling interviews, completing reference checks and supporting orientation and on boarding for new employees
- Creating and processing LMIA applications
- processing new hires, resignations and termination paperwork
- implementing company policies and progressive discipline when needed
- assisting managers and supervisors in HR inquiries
- completing and filing all WSIB forms and overseeing return to work
- completing paperwork for temporary foreign workers arrivals and departures
- help with administration of human resources and health and safety programs
- work with human resources and health and safety to promote best practices in the workplace across departments and locations by observing and interacting with employees
- perform various inspections including housing and note observations with accuracy
- complete payroll for all employees
- help with the organization and maintenance of training and employee records
- undertaking other assigned duties as requested by the Director of Operations
Knowledge, skills and abilities
-Knowledge of standards related to OHSA, JHSC and WSIB
-strong communication skills and confidence in public speaking
-detail oriented in administrative duties and task observation
-proficiency in Microsoft software, Work, Excel, Outlook
-ability to be flexible and re-prioritize duties as required
*ability to communicate in Spanish is an asset
Salary:
- $24.00 - $28.00/hour based on experience
