Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Taper and Painter to join our construction team. This role involves applying finishes, preparing surfaces, and ensuring high-quality paintwork on various construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction painting, carpentry, and related handyman skills, with the ability to read blueprints and perform precise work in a fast-paced environment. Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming prior to painting or taping
- Apply paint, stain, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment with attention to detail
- Perform taping and finishing work to ensure smooth transitions and clean lines on walls and ceilings
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to accurately execute project specifications
- Assist with carpentry tasks such as framing or minor repairs as needed
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for surface preparation and finishing tasks
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and adheres to safety protocols
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting and taping techniques
- Strong background in construction projects with familiarity in carpentry and handyman tasks
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Skilled in caulking, surface preparation, and applying various finishes
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to painting, taping, and general construction work
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a dynamic environment
- Physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working at heights if necessary
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred
