We are looking for a talented and creative Pastry Chef to join our growing team and help expand our bakery offerings beyond our signature donuts. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about laminated pastries, artisan baking, and developing new menu items.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, prepare, and produce a variety of high-quality pastries, with a focus on croissants, Danish pastries, puff pastry products, and other laminated doughs.
- Create and test new recipes to expand our menu while maintaining consistency, quality, and profitability.
- Prepare doughs, fillings, creams, glazes, and other pastry components from scratch.
- Manage the production schedule to ensure fresh pastries are available daily.
- Monitor product quality, presentation, and consistency to meet our brand standards.
- Maintain proper food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times.
- Order, receive, and manage pastry ingredients and supplies while minimizing waste.
- Maintain equipment and ensure the pastry kitchen is clean, organized, and operating efficiently.
- Collaborate with the owner and team to develop seasonal offerings, limited-time features, and specialty products.
- Train and mentor bakery staff on pastry techniques, production methods, and quality standards.
- Assist with inventory management, recipe costing, and production planning to maximize efficiency and profitability.
- Stay informed on current pastry trends and bring innovative ideas to help grow the business.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Pastry Chef or Baker, with strong experience in laminated dough production (croissants, Danish, puff pastry).
- Knowledge of artisan baking techniques and pastry production.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple production tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain) is an asset.
- Early morning, weekend, and holiday availability as required.
