Applicants must be a returning full-time student enrolled in a post – secondary program or a graduating grade 12 student who is enrolled in a full-time university or college program in the coming fall term. The student must be a permanent Nova Scotia resident or reside in the province for at least 6 months prior to this work term.
The Student Administrative Support Officer responsibilities include:
- Reception duties, including answer phones, taking messages and use of office equipment.
- Data entry, filing documents, updating forms, and preparing reports.
- Gather and disseminate current and relevant career and employment information.
- Provide information on the employment services available along with gathering and documenting initial client information.
- Assisting clients with online intake processes.
- Assisting with job search and providing up to date labour market information to clients at the front end.
- Assist and/or organize meetings, conferences and events put on by the organization
- Complete follow ups with clients for case managers.
- Work closely with career practitioners, employment maintenance worker, and employer engagement specialists.
- Maintain client confidentiality at all times.
- Take bookings for boardroom, and computer lab.
- Foster a work environment that is collaborative and cooperative.
- Adherence to inclusionary practice, ethical decision making, and respect for diversity
