Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Colours Service Tech to join our team. This role is responsible for completing high-quality paint repairs to walls and trim (latex or lacquer) in new homes, existing homes, and renovation projects. The Colours Service Tech works closely with the SPAAR Field Supervisor and Service Manager, completing work during the construction phase and after occupancy, while maintaining exceptional customer service and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Complete high-quality painting repairs to walls and trim as needed;
- Complete trades date appointments in occupied homes;
- Work effectively with builders, homeowners, and other trades including boarders, finishers, railing and cabinet installers, and painters;
- Manage and organize assigned jobs and prioritize work as needed;
- Assess urgency and prioritize work accordingly;
- Provide the office with completion dates and relevant follow-up information;
- Provide the office with details of work completed for billing purposes;
- Perform quality control checks on subcontract work;
- Perform prestart walks and measure work;
- Assist divisional manager with requested daily operational tasks;
- Maintain all necessary safety paperwork;
- Deliver materials as needed;
- Maintain professional communication using phone and smart phone technology as required;
- Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract;
- Experience providing customer service in a residential painting environment;
- Display excellent painting skills in all aspects of the trade including cutting, rolling walls, and using paint sprayers (HVLP, Graco) with a high degree of quality and cleanliness;
- High attention to detail, strong time management skills, and the ability to multitask;
- Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to logically think through requests and problem-solve;
- Understanding of the residential construction industry;
- Experience in the residential building industry is a strong asset.
