Role:
The Quality Assurance and Product Development Technician (‘QA Technician’) shall provide support to the HACCP team to achieve company continuous improvement in food safety and food quality to ensure the company complies with the requirements of CFIA and SQF regulations. The technician will be expected to take a leading role in product development, leveraging their academic knowledge for value added production
Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance to the requirements of CFIA and SQF regulations, food safety HACCP program and finished product specification.
- Actively performs on-site food safety verifications on the production floor, in all areas, as outlined in the HACCP program, performs corrective actions for deviations.
- Assure compliance to all quality & food safety requirements on a daily basis. Make decisions to ensure products meet quality standards and food safety requirements, report non compliance.
- Supports and monitors the company’s food safety programs at the facility in conjunction with operations, maintenance, sanitation and all other plant functional areas.
- Participates in SQF and internal HACCP audits as required.
- Evaluate sensory characteristics of existing and newly developed products
- Take a lead in product development, new formulation and sensory assessment.
Education:
Diploma or Bachelor Degree’s in Food Technology, Food Science, or Food Safety
Must be speaking and writting english fluently
