Description
The Business Development Associate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and supporting revenue growth. This role involves lead generation, client communication, proposal coordination, and collaboration with the event planning team.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Sales
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and referrals
- Generate and qualify leads for corporate and social events
- Maintain and update client pipelines in CRM systems
Client Relationship Management
- Communicate with prospective clients to understand event requirements
- Build long-term relationships with corporate clients, vendors, and partners
Proposals & Coordination
- Assist in preparing proposals, quotations, and contracts
- Coordinate with event planners and operations teams to develop customized solutions
- Follow up on proposals and close deals
Market Research & Strategy
- Conduct market and competitor research
- Identify new trends, venues, and partnership opportunities
- Provide feedback to management on market demand and client needs
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Proven ability to identify new business opportunities and generate leads
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills
- Ability to understand customer needs and propose suitable solutions
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience in event management, hospitality, or advertising agencies
- Knowledge of contract negotiation and pricing models
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated with a target-driven mindset
Must meet eligibility criteria given below
- Registered as a domestic student in a recognized post-secondary institution
- Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. International students are not eligible
- Must have a work-integrated learning (WIL) component within their study plan
- In a full or part-time program from any program of study
Pay: $20.00 per hour
