We are a family owned and run Market & Bistro located on our farm in Pitt Meadows. We are looking for more team members that are passionate about supporting local products and offering our customers the best service and selection.
Currently, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Supervisor to join our team. As a Retail Supervisor, you will be help oversee the daily operations of our retail store, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales.
Your leadership and management skills will be essential in maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
The successful candidate must be available Tuesday through Saturday and close minimum 2 days per week.
The Retail Supervisor's Responsibilities Include:
- Lead front-end staff with an upbeat, positive, and professional attitude
- Ensure team members remain on task throughout the day
- Organize and assign daily duties for front-end staff
- Add tasks to the daily production list as needed
- Provide feedback, observations, and suggestions to the management team
- Support the manager with monitoring employee progress and addressing concerns
- Train new team members and support ongoing development
- Greet customers, answer questions, and assist them with their shopping experience
- Handle customer complaints, concerns, refunds, and returns
- Maintain strong product knowledge across all departments, including meat, grocery, and specialty items
- Ensure all customer and wholesale orders are completed accurately and on time
- Perform general front-end duties, including running the till, filling, packaging, and cleaning
- Oversee the fresh case section to ensure quality, presentation, and accuracy
- Monitor closing duties and ensure all closing checklists are completed correctly
- Close tills and handle end-of-day tasks, including locking and arming the building
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a retail supervisory role
- Strong customer service skills with a positive, friendly, and professional attitude
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Organized, with strong multi-tasking and time-management abilities
- Proficient with POS systems, including Square
- Food Safe Level 1 certification
- Availability for a minimum of two closing shifts per week
- Availability to work at lease one weekend day
