Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide (LOCAL ONLY) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality food service to residents in our Long-term Care facility. This position involves meal preparation, serving, and ensuring that all food safety and sanitation standards are met. The Dietary Aide will work closely with kitchen staff and healthcare professionals to support the nutritional needs of our residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences
- Ensure that all food handling practices comply with safety and sanitation regulations
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment
- Set up dining areas for meal service and assist residents during meal times
- Monitor food inventory and report any shortages or concerns to the kitchen supervisor
- Collaborate with dietary staff to plan menus that meet the nutritional needs of residents
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing resident inquiries and concerns regarding meals
- Light housekeeping, setting and clearing tables, moping and vacuuming floors, and garbage removal
Skills
- Experience in assisted living, nursing home, or hospital settings is preferred
- Background in the food industry with knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and sanitation procedures
- Excellent time management skills to efficiently complete tasks within designated time frames
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated
- Strong customer service skills to ensure a positive dining experience for residents
- Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and serving methods
- Previous kitchen experience is a plus
