We are seeking a dedicated Sanitation Associates to join our team in the food production industry. The ideal candidates will have experience in sanitation and deep cleaning and will support the execution of a detailed sanitation program while maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and compliance.
This is a minimum 30-day contract position with an ASAP start date, and successful candidates must be available to start no later than August 31st . This is a full-time position, five days per week, working Monday to Friday. We are looking to maintain the same four individuals on site whenever possible to ensure consistency, accountability, and ownership of the sanitation program.
Please note that this is a food production environment and the work takes place in a cool environment of approximately +5°C, including fridge and freezer areas.
Pay: $22/hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, either 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (to be confirmed)
Requirements:
- Previous experience in sanitation, deep cleaning, and food safety-related sanitation work
- Physically able to perform duties assigned
- Able to lift a minimum of 25 lb to a maximum of 30 lbs
- Must obtain Basic Food Service Training certification
- WHMIS Certificate & 4 Steps H&S Certificate
- Police Background Check – clean and cleared
- Transportation – ability to get to work in Milton, Ontario, reliably and on time
- Able to work in a cool environment (+1°C), including fridge and freezer areas
- Able to work with a variety of cleaning soaps, sanitizers, and chemical detergents
- Strong understanding of proper sanitation procedures, task execution, and attention to detail
- Strong food safety and compliance mindset
- Able to work around a variety of foods, including meats, cold cuts, fish, poultry, vegetables, sauces, and other food products
- Foods consist of working with Kosher, Halal, Medical, and other Lifestyle Diets
- Footwear – must have Black Steel Toe CSA non-slip Safety Shoes
- Available to start ASAP and no later than Monday morning
- Able to commit to a minimum 30-day assignment
- Must be reliable and available to work consistently five days per week

Responsibilities / Job:
- Execute a detailed sanitation and deep cleaning program with a goal of 100% completion of assigned tasks
- Perform general sanitation duties, including cleaning, wiping, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, and waste removal
- Deep clean food production areas, equipment, work surfaces, and other assigned areas
- Follow established food safety, sanitation, and compliance procedures at all times
- Work with a variety of cleaning soaps, sanitizers, and chemical detergents safely and effectively
- Support audit readiness by ensuring sanitation tasks are completed thoroughly and according to internal requirements
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary food production environment
- Complete detailed cleaning and sanitation tasks independently while maintaining high attention to detail
- Work around and support sanitation requirements for a variety of food products, including meats, cold cuts, fish, poultry, vegetables, sauces, and other prepared foods
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, including the proper use of required PPE
- Take ownership of assigned areas and responsibilities while working as part of a consistent four-person sanitation team
- Report any sanitation, food safety, equipment, or compliance concerns to the appropriate supervisor
- Support internal sanitation requirements and contribute to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety
