Job Description:
PEFAC is seeking passionate and dedicated Swim Instructors to join our team! As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swimming lessons to individuals of various ages and skill levels, ensuring a safe, engaging, and fun environment. This is a part-time position with flexible hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach swim lessons to individuals of varying ages and abilities, following the PEFAC curriculum
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during lessons
- Provide positive reinforcement and feedback to students
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Monitor and assess students’ progress and provide feedback to parents or guardians
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the pool and surrounding areas
- Collaborate with fellow instructors and aquatics staff to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications:
- Current Swim Instructor Certification (e.g. Lifesaving Society, or equivalent)
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
- Previous experience in teaching swimming or working with children is an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, friendly, and approachable attitude
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
