Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Lead Hand to oversee and coordinate landscape maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in horticulture and construction, and hands-on experience in irrigation, gardening, and landscape management. This role involves supervising team members, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining efficient workflow across various landscaping tasks. The Lead Hand will play a critical role in delivering exceptional service to clients while fostering a safe and productive work environment.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily landscape maintenance activities, lawn mowing, gardening, and horticultural tasks
- Lead a team of workers to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards
- Ensure safety protocols are followed on-site and promote a safe working environment
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Provide training and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills in horticulture, and landscape maintenance
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand project requirements and deliver satisfactory results
- Monitor progress of work sites, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions promptly
Skills
- Proven experience in supervising landscape or construction teams with strong leadership qualities
- Extensive knowledge of, gardening techniques, horticulture practices, and landscape maintenance
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with landscaping work
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication skills for effective team coordination and client interaction
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work environments
- Prior experience in supervising or leading teams within landscaping or construction fields is highly desirable
Pay: $18.85-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
