We are seeking a detail-orientated Production Technician to support the production of high-precision quartz crystals and frequency control products. The Production Technician works closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure products meet precise dimensional, frequency, and performance specifications. The successful candidate will have strong technical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to independently perform precision manufacturing processes while identifying and resolving production issues.
Responsibilities
- Operate specialized equipment used in quartz crystal processing, lapping, polishing, assembly, cleaning, and testing.
- Measure, calibrate, and adjust crystal resonators to meet precise dimensional and frequency specifications.
- Set up and monitor production equipment and make approved process adjustments as required.
- Perform in-process and final inspections using microscopes, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment.
- Identify defects, process deviations, and non-conforming products and report or escalate issues as required.
- Troubleshoot basic equipment, process, and product-performance problems in collaboration with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams.
- Read and follow technical drawings, work instructions, specifications, and standard operating procedures.
- Accurately document production parameters, measurements, test results, and completed work.
- Support process improvements, trial runs, prototype work, and new product introductions.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to assemblers and other production employees when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing or laboratory environment.
- Follow all quality, safety, contamination-control, and equipment-handling procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- College diploma, technical certificate, or coursework in electronics, electrical technology, mechanical technology, manufacturing, engineering technology, laboratory sciences, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in precision manufacturing, electronics, crystal processing, microelectronics, laboratory production, or a similar technical manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience operating precision manufacturing or laboratory equipment is an asset.
- Experience with quartz crystals, resonators, oscillators, frequency control products, or electronic components is highly desirable.
- Experience with inspection equipment, microscopes, measuring instruments, or electronic test equipment is an asset.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills for production reporting, data entry, inventory tracking, and manufacturing documentation.
