Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Yard Technician to oversee daily operations and ensure the highest standards of service and quality. The ideal candidate will possess "can do", a background in the transportation industry including a class 1 or 3 license, and attention to detail. This role involves many different responsibilities, coordinating tasks, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment to meet the shop and client needs. Responsibilities
- Wash, clean, and inspect equipment in the yard.
- Coordinate daily schedules, assign tasks, and monitor progress to meet deadlines
- Organize and arrange the yard to ensure maximum efficiency
- Shunt equipment in yard and to nearby yards as required.
- Handle seasonal challenges such as snow removal and grass cutting.
- Communicate effectively with shop to understand their needs and address any concerns
- Maintain safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Assist with cleaning duties when necessary to support team operations
- Manage inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring proper usage and maintenance
- Other responsibilities as assigned and needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in transportation, maintenance shop, or related field, with a strong understanding of heavy equipment.
- A Class 1 or Class 3 license.
- Leadership experience preferred
- Ability to lift 30-50lbs
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Reliable transportation and the ability to work flexible hours as needed

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
