Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Night Security Guard to help maintain a safe and secure environment within student housing properties in Waterloo. The successful candidate will monitor building activity, respond to incidents, enforce property policies, and provide excellent customer service to residents during overnight hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of student residence buildings and surrounding property.
- Monitor security cameras, entrances, and common areas.
- Respond to resident concerns, disturbances, and emergencies.
- Enforce residence rules and safety procedures.
- Document incidents, maintenance issues, and security concerns in detailed reports.
- Coordinate with emergency services, property management, and local authorities when required.
- Verify access and prevent unauthorized entry to the premises.
- Assist residents with basic inquiries and provide professional customer service.
Requirements
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (required)
- Valid CPR & First Aid Certification (required)
- Eligible to work legally in Canada
- Ability to work overnight shifts independently
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous security experience (residential or student housing preferred)
- Experience monitoring CCTV systems
- Conflict de-escalation and report-writing skills
- Experience working in a university or student-focused environment
Pay: $17.20-$20.00 per hour
