Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Construction Manager to lead and oversee construction projects from inception to completion. This role is vital in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction site experience, and proficiency with industry-standard construction management software. As a Construction Manager, you will coordinate with various teams, manage subcontractors, and ensure all project phases align seamlessly to achieve exceptional results.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closing of construction projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and safety protocols.
- Develop detailed project schedules using tools like project management software to monitor progress and adjust plans proactively.
- Oversee daily site operations, ensuring compliance with blueprints, schematics, contracts, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to facilitate smooth communication and project flow.
- Manage procurement processes including construction estimating and bid evaluations.
- Review construction drawings with design software to ensure accuracy before execution.
- Monitor project costs through construction estimating techniques and control expenses effectively.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality standards, safety compliance, and progress milestones.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including contracts, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and progress reports.
- Utilize construction management software for project scheduling, resource allocation, and tracking project metrics.
- Lead project coordination meetings to align teams on objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction site management with a strong background in commercial projects.
- Solid understanding of blueprint reading and schematics for various types of construction projects.
- Demonstrated ability in construction estimating and contract management.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong leadership qualities with experience managing diverse teams of subcontractors and vendors.
- Knowledge of project scheduling techniques including critical path method (CPM) scheduling.
- Effective communication skills for clear collaboration with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA safety training or PMP (Project Management Professional) are preferred but not mandatory.
