Tool Push/Rig Manager on Service and Rod Rigs
Apex Well Servicing is hiring a full-time position for an experienced Rig Manger/ Tool Push. The successful candidate will have experience working in an exciting atmosphere, where you have the opportunity to grow successfully as an individual and part of our Apex Team. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·Co-ordinate the work of rig crews (a driller and other crew members)
·Ensure that the entire drilling well and rod rigs servicing operation runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently
·Make arrangements to prepare area for well servicing
·Organize the setting up and dismantling of rigs
·Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with Apex Well Servicing Inc and Customers’ safety policies
· Receive feedback on the concerns of employees and ensure that the issues are addressed.
· Maintain a cooperative environment at the worksite and encourage teamwork in the crew.
· Ensure that new and transferred employees receive orientation
· Identify the training needs of his crew members
· Investigate incidents to establish basic causes and remedial actions
· Ensure all worksite equipment and components are maintained in good operating condition
· Monitor maintenance and certification of specified company safety equipment
· Ensure high housekeeping standards are maintained throughout the worksite
·Set an example and provide safety leadership
· Encourage employees to take responsibility for their own safety and that of their fellow crew members.
·Ensure that emergency evacuation and medical procedures are posted and understood
·Training all crew members in the areas of health and safety
· Following and enforcing relevant policies, regulations and standards according company H&S Manual
· Ensure that operations comply with company policies and government OH&S Regulations
·Understanding the job scope, potential hazards, rules and regulations and equipment consideration
· Ensure that company HSE manager is informed of all identified hazards, which cannot be rectified immediately.
·Managing the safe operation and profitability of their assigned well service or rod rig
·Ensure that injured personnel are escorted to a hospital or doctor if there is any doubt as to the seriousness of the injuries.
·Ensure efficient incident reporting, investigation and subsequent follow-up.
·Give feedback and positive encouragement to crews for safety initiatives and superior performance.
·Ensure workers are aware of their individual safety responsibilities as required by this policy, statutory legislation and client specific rules.
.Facilitate regular emergency drills and ensure that each employee understands their individual role.
·Conduct pre-job safety meetings as appropriate.
·Participate in safety reviews and audits.
·Participate in the job safety analysis process.
·Monitor and enhance the standards of safety meetings at the workplace.
·Attend safety meetings and actively contribute at those meetings.
·Participate in the continued development of the Apex Well Servicing Inc H&S Manual.
·Participate in safety training.
·Conduct regular worksite inspections in accordance with company policy.
·Ensure that third parties operating on the worksite do so in accordance with the Customers’ and Apex Well Servicing Inc. policies.
Role Specifications:
- Prior experience On Service Drilling and Rod Rigs
- Valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s license and experience operating a manual transmission
- Clean 5-year commercial driving abstract
- Able to Pass negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Common Safety Orientation certification is required
- Having First Aid, H2S Alive
- Valid Well Service blowout prevention (B.O.P) certification
- Must be able to spend long periods of time driving
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
- Experience working at heights with the use of special fall restraint equipment
- Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 80 pounds on a regular basis)
- Experience and comfort with confined spaces such as a small vessel/tank or trench
- Enjoy working outdoors even in harsh weather conditions
- Comfortable with the use of additional respiratory equipment and air supply; wearing a full-face mask and carrying your own source of oxygen
- You have the ability to work well in a team, share a laugh with your coworkers and get the job done safely
- We have great training and your ability to read and write will ensure you meet the testing requirements
- Must be able to perform work at various customer locations in all types of weather
