Overview
We are looking for skilled production workers to add to our 2nd Shift Team for full-time, permanent employment who are focused on Customer Satisfaction, Safety, and Quality. Successful candidates bring a positive attitude; consistent punctuality and attendance; flexibility and a willingness to learn different tasks and operations; and work to ensure on-time workflow for our customers. (This shift starts on Monday evenings at 7:30 PM and ends the following morning at 6:00 AM. Four 10-hour shifts mean you're only commuting 4 times a week!)
Primary responsibilities include the following:
- Set up and operate woodworking machines safely such as saws, routers, planers, edge bander, pressing machines, shapers, drills, and sanders to fabricate or repair wooden parts for furniture, fixtures, and other wood products.
- Use hand tools to trim pieces or assemble products. Follow and adhere to the daily production schedule. Notify team leader to contact maintenance for equipment issues.
- Organize and deliver material to appropriate locations. Verify color, edge, and size as per work order.
- Maintain clean and safe work area.
- Willing to cross train and support team members in different areas.
- Construct drums, cubes, and more advanced laminate projects. Follow daily operating checklist and perform simple routine maintenance to ensure equipment is running safely.

As a member of the 2nd Shift team, the role is accountable to the 2nd Shift Production Supervisor and Team Leader for following work orders, work instructions, procedures and policies; maximizing machine uptime; completing required paperwork and documentation such as Daily Operating Checklists (DOC’s).

Quality - Ensure that activities conform to Company-established quality standards and that non-conforming items are appropriately handled
Teamwork - Promote a pleasant work environment; listen to and respect co-workers and maintain a cooperative working relationship with others; provide and accept constructive feedback; provide other staff with appropriate training and support
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent; job related courses, an asset
- Minimum 3 years’ working in a manufacturing environment, woodshop experience an asset
- A customer-focused individual with demonstrated relationship-building skills
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and production drawings
- Strong commitment to health & safety, quality, and internal processes by using standardized work methods
- Clear communication and effective engagement with others; motivates and stretches the individual and team talents to achieve higher levels of competence
- Experience working with power and air tools used in manufacturing
- Pro-active, detail-oriented, customer-focused approach that supports both the external customer and the internal team members
- Able to effectively manage multiple demands and competing priorities
- A self-starting, goal-oriented individual who takes personal accountability and is driven by making meaningful contributions to the achievement of the Company’s vision and objectives in accordance with the Company’s Values

- This position requires the employee to work in manufacturing process areas and to deal regularly with schedule and deadline pressures. Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time and handle materials weighing at least 40 lbs.
