In this hands-on role, you will serve as a trusted partner to plant leadership, ensuring our people practices align with both organizational goals and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for the full employee lifecycle—from recruiting skilled talent to supporting employee development, engagement, and retention in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities

- Lead performance management processes, including goal-setting, performance reviews, and corrective action procedures.
- Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and the employee handbook to ensure clarity and legal compliance.
- Analyze HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism, headcount) and present data-driven recommendations to leadership.
- Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives, including recognition programs, culture-building activities, and stay interviews.
- Manage, mentor, and develop any direct HR staff (coordinators, generalists) at the facility.
- Coordinate and facilitate new-hire orientation and ongoing training programs, including safety and compliance training.
- Support positive employee relations strategies or, where applicable, manage collective bargaining and labour relations activities in accordance with the Ontario Labour Relations Act.
Required Qualifications
