Dump Truck Driver
We are a medium sized Heavy Civil Construction Company operating in Mid-western Ontario. We are looking a Dump Truck Driver to join our team. We have long-term work available for the right candidate. In addition to an DZ license and Clean CVOR abstract, preferred applicants will have experience working around Heavy Equipment such as Bulldozers and Excavators. We will also consider individuals with less experience if you possess the right attitude.

Dump Truck Driver responsibilities and duties
· Complete pre-trip inspection and documentation.
· Oil and lubricate as required by schedule.
· Drive in accordance to Highway Traffic Act.
· Monitor loading to ensure safe distribution and weight.
· Ensure that door latches are engaged before loading.
· Regular truck maintenance and up keep
· Drive in a responsible manner.
· Clean cab at end of shift.
· Understand and obey signalers directions. If unsure of directions do not move.
· Unload only on stable, level ground.
· Unload away from overhead power lines.
· Ensure that you use three-point contact getting into and out of truck.
Dump Truck Driver Skills
· Follow the instructions of the Site supervisor and get clarification if required.
· Is consistently at work and on time and properly dressed.
· Follows safety policies and procedures.
· Immediately notifies management of unsafe conditions.
· Uses equipment and materials in accordance with legitimate instructions.
· Able to maintain alertness during long periods of little activity.
· Able to evaluate ground conditions for levelness and stability.
· At the minimum, a Province of Ontario Driver’s License Class DZ with a clean Drivers abstract.
· At least 4 to 6 months previous experience operating Heavy Commercial Vehicles.
· Able to read and understand basic instructions and memos.
· Able to read and write in order to complete Pre Trip Inspection and fill out weigh tickets if required.
· Ability to resolve common problems and concerns. (i.e. getting stuck, refueling on time etc.)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $28.00-$31.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
