KITCHEN STAFF - COOK The Vulcan Golf and Country Club has opening for an additional line cook for our restaurant. This seasonal position can run until October 15. Having previous experience in restaurant services would be an asset but not necessary, work great in a team and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Prepare meals while maintaining a positive and professional style with a focus on plating and quality. Position will include evening, and weekend shifts, a flexible schedule is required.
Duties include:
- Cook for restaurant, take out orders, on-course concession food, as well as event catering services.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Can stand for long periods of time, work well under pressure and in a fast paced environment.
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes.
- Supervise kitchen staff and servers.
- Monitor controls to minimize waste and loss.
- Assist in the presentation of daily features and menu dishes.
- Be able to multi-task: employees will be called upon to perform all kitchen duties as deemed necessary. This includes prep work, cleaning, dishwashing, receiving and other kitchen-related tasks.
- Practice sanitary and safe food handling always. Clean and sanitize the work area before, during and after every shift.
- Be responsible for the general organization and cleanliness of the kitchen.
- Work with specialized cooking equipment (deep fryer, grill, BBQ, etc.).
Job requirements:
- Excellent communication skills. A team player who can lead, organize, and maintain excellent service standards.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach to everything that is done.
- Use kitchen equipment, in proper manner, taking care not to abuse or misuse.
- Food Safe level 1 required.
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
