Job Summary
FS is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Logistics Coordinator to support our local operations in Canada. This position is responsible for coordinating cross-border transportation, Canadian import customs clearance, carrier management, and order delivery activities.The Logistics Coordinator will work closely with carriers, customs brokers, Sales, Warehouse, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure shipments move efficiently from origin through final delivery. The ideal candidate has experience with international logistics, strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities while resolving issues quickly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
International Transportation & Shipment Management
- Coordinate international shipments for Canadian customer orders, including transportation from overseas warehouses or origin locations through final delivery.
- Work with logistics providers and carriers, including UPS, DHL, FedEx, and other transportation partners.
- Track shipments and proactively follow up on delivery status and exceptions.
- Investigate and resolve transportation issues, including delays, damaged shipments, lost packages, and delivery problems.
- Assist with evaluating transportation routes and logistics solutions to improve delivery efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Canadian Import & Customs Coordination
- Coordinate Canadian import customs clearance activities and communicate with customs brokers.
- Prepare, review, and follow up on customs and shipping documentation.
- Support HS Code classification, customs declarations, duties, taxes, and related import requirements.
- Assist with Canada’s Customs Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM) processes.
- Monitor customs clearance status and coordinate resolution of clearance exceptions.
Order Fulfillment & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Sales, Warehouse, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure accurate order and shipment information.
- Follow orders from warehouse release through final customer delivery.
- Support improvements to order fulfillment and delivery processes.
- Maintain accurate shipment, customs, and logistics records.
Logistics Data & Cost Management
- Track transportation costs, delivery lead times, shipment exceptions, and other logistics performance data.
- Reconcile transportation, customs, and logistics service charges.
- Assist with logistics cost-control initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Support carrier and logistics provider performance reviews.
- Prepare basic logistics reports and analysis to support operational decisions.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, international transportation, freight forwarding, or cross-border e-commerce logistics.
- Experience with Canadian imports or North American logistics operations is preferred.
- Working knowledge of international transportation and import customs processes.
- Basic understanding of Incoterms and HS Code classification.
- Strong organizational and process-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication and coordination skills when working with carriers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, coordinate solutions, and follow problems through to resolution.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logistics data management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- College diploma or bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Canadian customs and import operations.
- Familiarity with the CARM system.
- Experience working with UPS, DHL, FedEx, freight forwarders, customs brokers, or similar logistics providers.
- Experience supporting B2B, e-commerce, technology, or international business operations.
- APICS CPIM, APICS CSCP, SCMP, or other relevant logistics/supply chain certification is an asset.
- Experience working with international or cross-functional teams.
