Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the produce department, including inventory control, purchasing, pricing, and merchandising to maximize sales and profitability.
- Supervise and train staff on store policies, product handling, safety procedures, and customer service techniques to ensure a knowledgeable and motivated team.
- Oversee store displays, signage, and product placement to attract customers and promote seasonal or promotional items effectively.
- Conduct regular quality checks on produce freshness, appearance, and stock levels; coordinate with vendors for timely deliveries.
- Implement marketing strategies within the department to increase sales; utilize social media or in-store promotions to engage shoppers.
- Maintain organizational standards by adhering to health codes, safety regulations, and sanitation procedures; conduct staff training on compliance measures.
- Develop schedules, monitor payroll hours, and manage budgets to optimize operational efficiency.
- Foster strong communication within the team through regular meetings; provide coaching and feedback to support professional growth.
Experience
- Proven supervisory or management experience in retail grocery or food service environments with a focus on produce or perishable goods.
- Strong knowledge of merchandising techniques, pricing strategies, inventory management, and purchasing processes.
- Excellent communication skill; ability to connect with diverse teams and customers.
- Demonstrated expertise in retail sales management, team leadership, training & development, and store operations.
- Experience in marketing initiatives aimed at increasing sales; ability to analyze sales data for strategic decision-making.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; effective time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Ability to lead by example with a positive attitude while maintaining high standards of customer service excellence.
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 44.0 per week
