Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in preparing accurate project cost estimates, supporting project planning, and ensuring competitive pricing for construction projects. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency with industry-standard software, and excellent negotiation abilities to collaborate effectively with clients and vendors. The Construction Estimator will be instrumental in driving project success through precise budgeting and strategic cost management.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive construction cost estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed bids and proposals.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to gather pricing information and negotiate terms.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about current material costs, labor rates, and industry trends.
- Assist in the review of project scopes to identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings.
- Prepare detailed bid packages, including pricing breakdowns and supporting documentation.
- Support project management teams throughout the bidding process and during project execution as needed.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and related documentation for future reference.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of construction processes and terminology.
- Proficiency with computersoftware
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors and subcontractors.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex drawings, specifications, and pricing data.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members, clients, and suppliers.
- Knowledge of construction industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
- A background in construction or related fields is preferred; relevant certifications are a plus. Pay: $75,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
