Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Telecom Equipment Removal Technician responsible for safely and efficiently removing telecommunication infrastructure and equipment from central offices . This role involves working at various sites to disassemble, and prepare equipment for ship . Sorting removed waste and equipment into the appropriate container. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of network infrastructure, low voltage systems, and the safe operation of equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on safety, technical precision, and teamwork. At times the jobs may also include installing equipment and cabling.
Responsibilities
- Safely disassemble telecommunication equipment including switches, routers, and related hardware.
- Operate forklifts, and other specialized machinery to access high or hard-to-reach equipment.
- Remove low voltage wiring, cabling, and network infrastructure components with precision.
- Remove racks and bays
- Ensure all work complies with electrical safety standards and telecommunication regulations.
- Prepare removed equipment for shipping following safety protocols.
- Conduct site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure safe working conditions.
- Maintain detailed documentation of equipment removal activities and site conditions.
Skills
- Proven experience with telecommunication systems, WAN networks, and network infrastructure.
- Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems and telephony infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to electrical work
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues on-site.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work at heights above 8 feet, and perform manual tasks in various environments.
- Prior experience in telecommunications or related technical fields is highly desirable. This role requires a dedicated professional committed to safety, technical excellence, and efficient project completion within the telecommunications industry.
We require staff on a casual basis, working 1-2 weeks at a time To complete each job. With the exception it progresses to full time employment.
Pay: $26.35-$56.97 per hour
