Dirty Drip Job Description – Crew Member Position Summary
The Crew Member is responsible for delivering the Dirty Drip experience through consistent drink preparation, excellent customer service, cleanliness, teamwork, and strict adherence to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Crew Members are expected to prepare all drinks accurately and efficiently, maintain Dirty Drip’s quality and presentation standards, keep the workplace clean and organized, and contribute to a positive and professional environment.
Every Crew Member represents the Dirty Drip brand and is expected to maintain high standards in product quality, customer experience, personal presentation, cleanliness, and operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Drink Preparation & Product Quality
- Prepare all Dirty Drip drinks according to approved recipes, measurements, preparation methods, and presentation standards.
- Follow recipe cards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) exactly to ensure consistency across every drink served.
- Accurately measure ingredients, syrups, sauces, coffee, milk, ice, toppings, and other components.
- Ensure every beverage meets Dirty Drip standards for taste, temperature, texture, appearance, portion size, and presentation.
- Follow correct procedures for espresso extraction, milk preparation, blending, shaking, mixing, topping, and drink assembly where applicable.
- Never modify recipes, measurements, preparation methods, or ingredients unless authorized by management.
- Check drinks before serving to ensure the correct order has been prepared.
- Maintain speed of service without compromising quality or accuracy.
- Immediately communicate any product quality concerns, equipment issues, or ingredient shortages to the supervisor or manager.
Following SOPs & Company Standards
- Read, understand, and consistently follow all Dirty Drip SOPs.
- Follow established opening, operating, shift-change, and closing procedures.
- Follow company standards for drink preparation, food handling, customer service, cleaning, stocking, cash handling, and workplace safety.
- Complete assigned checklists accurately and honestly.
- Follow manager and shift-lead instructions regarding daily operations and store priorities.
- Maintain consistency even during busy periods.
- Never take shortcuts that may affect product quality, cleanliness, safety, or customer experience.
- Participate in training and demonstrate competency in required recipes, procedures, equipment, and service standards.
- Stay updated on new menu items, recipes, promotions, procedures, and company policies.
Customer Service
- Greet every customer in a friendly, welcoming, and professional manner.
- Take customer orders accurately and confirm modifications or special requests.
- Provide customers with clear information about menu items when required.
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude during all customer interactions.
- Handle customer concerns professionally and involve a supervisor or manager when necessary.
- Ensure orders are prepared and delivered accurately and efficiently.
- Help create an energetic, welcoming, and memorable Dirty Drip experience.
- Thank customers and encourage a positive final impression of the brand.
Cleanliness & Organization
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout the entire shift.
- Clean equipment, counters, preparation areas, sinks, floors, refrigerators, storage areas, and customer-facing areas according to company standards.
- Follow the “clean as you go” standard at all times.
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store tools and equipment.
- Follow required cleaning schedules and complete assigned cleaning duties.
- Ensure ingredients, cups, lids, straws, syrups, sauces, toppings, and other supplies are properly stocked and organized.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures when handling ingredients and inventory.
- Check expiration dates, preparation dates, and product labels as required.
- Immediately remove or report expired, damaged, contaminated, or poor-quality products.
- Dispose of waste according to company procedures.
- Maintain clean and presentable customer areas, including tables, counters, service areas, and waste stations.
Food Safety & Hygiene
- Follow all company food safety, sanitation, and hygiene requirements.
- Wash hands according to required procedures and at appropriate times.
- Use gloves and food-handling tools correctly where required.
- Prevent cross-contamination between ingredients, equipment, and work surfaces.
- Store ingredients at the correct temperatures and in approved containers.
- Ensure all prepared products are properly labelled, dated, and stored.
- Immediately report any food safety or sanitation concerns to management.
- Maintain high personal hygiene and grooming standards while working.
Cash Handling & Point of Sale
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately when assigned.
- Process cash, card, mobile, and other approved payments correctly.
- Follow company procedures regarding discounts, refunds, voids, promotions, and complimentary items.
- Maintain accuracy when handling cash.
- Immediately report discrepancies or POS issues to the supervisor or manager.
- Protect company funds and customer payment information.
Stocking & Inventory
- Maintain appropriate stock levels at assigned stations.
- Restock ingredients, cups, packaging, toppings, syrups, cleaning supplies, and other operational items as needed.
- Store products according to Dirty Drip organization and food-safety standards.
- Notify management when inventory levels are low.
- Help receive and organize deliveries when assigned.
- Minimize product waste by following proper portioning, handling, and storage procedures.
- Record waste accurately when required.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work cooperatively and respectfully with all team members.
- Communicate clearly during busy periods to maintain efficient operations.
- Support other stations when assistance is required.
- Complete assigned responsibilities before leaving a station or ending a shift.
- Communicate unfinished tasks, shortages, equipment issues, customer concerns, and operational problems to the appropriate team member or manager.
- Respect management direction and company policies.
- Contribute to a positive, professional, and productive workplace.
- Avoid inappropriate behavior, arguments, negativity, or conduct that may negatively affect customers or the team.
Attendance & Reliability
- Arrive on time and ready to work for every scheduled shift.
- Follow Dirty Drip scheduling, attendance, break, and timekeeping policies.
- Be properly dressed and prepared before the scheduled start time.
- Notify management regarding lateness or absence according to company policy.
- Maintain reliable attendance and demonstrate flexibility when business needs require additional support.
- Do not leave the workplace or assigned station without authorization.
Uniform & Personal Presentation
Crew Members are expected to maintain a clean and professional appearance that represents the Dirty Drip brand.
Employees must:
- Wear the approved Dirty Drip uniform correctly.
- Maintain clean clothing and appropriate footwear.
- Follow company grooming and hygiene standards.
- Wear required name tags, hats, aprons, or other uniform items where applicable.
- Avoid clothing, accessories, or personal presentation that violates company food-safety or appearance standards.

- Work around hot equipment, liquids, refrigeration equipment, and cleaning products.
- Lift and move products, boxes, or supplies as reasonably required for store operations.
- Work in a fast-paced environment during periods of high customer volume.
Accountability
Crew Members are responsible for understanding and following Dirty Drip policies, procedures, recipes, and operational standards.
Failure to follow SOPs, food-safety requirements, drink recipes, cleanliness expectations, attendance policies, customer-service standards, or reasonable management instructions may result in coaching, retraining, corrective action, or other action in accordance with company policy.
