Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented MEC Junior Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will assist in preparing accurate project estimates by analyzing plans, specifications, and other project documents. Your enthusiasm and eagerness to learn will contribute to delivering competitive bids that meet client expectations. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop skills in construction estimating while working alongside experienced professionals in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior estimator to review project plans, specifications, and scope of work to develop comprehensive estimates.
- Utilize estimating software such as Trimble to prepare detailed cost analyses and pricing proposals.
- Assist in gathering and analyzing pricing data from suppliers and subcontractors through negotiation and market research.
- Support the project management team by tracking bid deadlines, organizing estimate documentation, and maintaining accurate records.
- Contribute to the preparation of bid packages, including scope summaries, cost breakdowns, and risk assessments.
- Participate in meetings with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to clarify project requirements and refine estimates.
- Develop a foundational understanding of construction processes, materials, labor costs, and project scheduling.
Experience
- Prior experience or internship in construction estimating or related field is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
- Familiarity with construction terminology, plans, and specifications is advantageous.
- Exposure to estimation tools is a plus.
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation, project management, and attention to detail are highly valued.
- Construction experience or background in the industry will help accelerate your growth within this role.
Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
