Alberta Hardwood is seeking a Flooring Field Supervisor to oversee and manage pre-installation and post-installation activities for residential flooring projects throughout Calgary and surrounding communities. This field-based position plays a critical role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-installation site inspections to identify deficiencies requiring correction before flooring installation begins.
- Collaborate with installation crews and builder representatives to identify and resolve site issues efficiently.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with office staff, installers, builders, and homeowners to keep projects on schedule.
- Perform quality control inspections to ensure workmanship and materials meet or exceed Alberta Hardwood's standards.
- Review completed installations and communicate any deficiencies or corrective actions to the appropriate parties.
- Follow all safety protocols and assist in monitoring and promoting safe work practices in the field.
- Perform minor repairs and touch-ups as required to support project completion and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in flooring, residential construction, or a related field.
- Experience in flooring, particularly tile installation and quality control, is a strong asset.
- Hands-on skills with the ability to use tools and perform minor repairs and touch-ups.
- Experience in residential, commercial, or multi-family construction environments is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret scopes of work, blueprints, change orders, and design specifications.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Success in this role depends on the ability to work effectively with installers, builders, customers, and office staff while communicating clearly and professionally.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement practical solutions.
