Overview
We are seeking a skilled Flooring Installer helper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in flooring installation but not mandatory. This role involves working on residential and commercial projects to deliver high-quality flooring solutions. Candidates should be detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of using hand tools effectively. Prior handyman experience is a plus, as it demonstrates versatility and practical skills necessary for successful project completion.
Responsibilities
- Measure and prepare surfaces for flooring installation according to project specifications
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and install various types of flooring materials including tile, hardwood, laminate, and vinyl
- Perform carpentry tasks such as framing or subfloor preparation an asset
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
- Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure project specifications are met within scheduled timelines
Qualifications
- Proven experience in flooring installation, tile laying, or related construction work an asset
- Proficiency with hand tools, caulking guns, saws, and other construction equipment
- Strong carpentry skills and handyman experience preferred
- Knowledge of flooring materials, installation techniques, and safety protocols an asset
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks efficiently
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
