MWD Shop Technician

We have an opening for an MWD Shop Technician at our SE Technical Centre. The MWD Shop Technician is accountable for inventorying, storing, preparing, cleaning, inspecting, reporting, receiving, and maintaining MWD tools and MWD kits. This individual is also responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the MWD area. This position requires close coordination and assistance to the MWD Asset Management Coordinator.
Specific Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)
- Replenish all MWD component kits.
- Dispatch MWD tools in/out.
- Receive the job tools from field operations, check that all parts and equipment have been returned, and record in inventory.
- Ensure that no MWD tools move from the kit or shipping and receiving bay to the lab until they are confirmed and all required paperwork has been completed and submitted for entry.
- Maintain all components in the MWD kits to ensure functionality in the field.
- Submit MWD asset reports to MWD Asset Management Coordinator daily.
- Manage lithium battery cores and return depleted ones to manufacturing companies.
- Track all batteries to be disposed of.
- Maintain an inventory of MWD supplies and equipment to meet current and forecasted business levels; administer an effective inventory tracking system for field operations.
- Maintain the MWD shipping and receiving area and MWD yard.
- Adhere to Phoenix’s SE Shop office hours.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation as well as possible weekend shifts.
- Assist other departments with various projects when time permits.
- Perform all duties so as to meet the responsibilities listed in the Employee and Corporate HSE Handbooks.
- Perform duties according to the Company’s quality system procedures and work instructions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Mechanical aptitude
- Capable of working in an unsupervised environment
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Strong organization and record keeping skills with attention to detail
- As a safety sensitive position, this role requires functional English skills (reading, writing, listening, and comprehension) for:
- Proper understanding of one’s job, safety-related training, alerts, policies, procedures, and instructions
- Reading and understanding all corporate-related compliance documents, procedures and policies
- Communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors
