Overview
We are seeking a reliable and organized Dispatcher to oversee the safe and efficient movement of trucks involved in modular and specialized transportation projects. The successful candidate will coordinate schedules, routes, permits, and oversize load requirements while maintaining clear communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams. This role is responsible for ensuring on-time project execution, regulatory compliance, accurate operational records, and quickly resolving any issues that may impact deliveries or project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispatch and manage trucks involved in modular and specialized transportation projects
- Plan routes and schedules while ensuring compliance with provincial, state, and federal regulations
- Coordinate permits, escorts, and routing requirements for oversize and specialized loads
- Maintain consistent communication with drivers to manage route changes, weather, delays, and operational issues
- Ensure loads move on schedule and address problems immediately when they arise
- Work directly with customers and internal operations to coordinate project timelines and equipment availability
- Monitor driver hours of service and regulatory compliance
- Maintain accurate operational records, load tracking, and reporting
Qualifications
- Proven experience in trucking dispatch or specialized transportation operations
- Strong understanding of oversize permits, routing, and compliance requirements
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations and make decisions quickly
- Excellent communication skills with drivers, customers, and operations teams
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple active shipments at once
- Experience with dispatch software, load boards, and fleet tracking systems preferred
