The opportunity…
Make a meaningful impact on the health, safety, and wellbeing of employees across Yukon government. As a Health & Safety Advisor, you’ll be a trusted partner and change agent—providing practical advice, building strong relationships, and helping teams turn policy into action. You will be a contact and touchpoint for supervisors, safety professionals, and employees across Yukon government. You’ll lead communications on emerging and complex topics related to safety trends, psychological health, workplace violence prevention, and public health risks, while also shaping how safety is communicated through campaigns, web content, and tools that influence real behaviour. Working closely with Joint Health and Safety Committees and leaders across the organization, you’ll help strengthen a culture where people feel supported, informed, and safe every day.

Essential Qualifications
- Completion of post-secondary education in a relevant field such as occupational health and safety, human resources, health, public administration, law or a trade.
- Experience providing advice, coaching or support to employers, supervisors or workers to help them apply or follow legislation, policy or best practices.
- Experience leading, contributing to or participating in workplace programs such as hazard assessments, inspections, audits, quality assurance, compliance monitoring, or health and safety committees.
- Experience in creating print and online communications and promotional materials or campaign plans to build awareness, establish procedures or influence behaviour.
- Certification as one of the following is not required but may be an asset:
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP);
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP);
- Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST);
- Canadian Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC);
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Additional information
Conditions of Employment: class 5 driver’s license, certified copies of degree and professional certification(s) must be submitted prior to hire.
