We are seeking an experienced Personal Lines Underwriter to join our growing team.
This role is responsible for reviewing new business submissions, assessing risk, obtaining competitive quotations from multiple insurance carriers, and supporting brokers in delivering the best insurance solutions for clients.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, knowledgeable in the Ontario personal lines market, and enjoys working closely with brokers and insurance company underwriters.

Review and evaluate new personal lines submissions.

Analyze client risk and determine the most suitable insurance markets.

Obtain and negotiate quotations with multiple insurance carriers.

Compare policy coverage, pricing, underwriting guidelines, and eligibility.

Present recommendations to brokers and assist with complex placements.

Build and maintain strong relationships with insurer underwriters.

Stay current with underwriting guidelines and market appetite.

Assist brokers with renewals, rewrites, and difficult-to-place risks.

Ensure all files comply with RIBO and company standards.

Maintain accurate documentation within the brokerage management system.

Support internal training by sharing market knowledge and underwriting updates.

Active RIBO Level 2 license (preferred).

Minimum 3 years of Ontario Personal Lines insurance experience.

Strong knowledge of auto, home, condo, tenant, and umbrella insurance.

Experience working with multiple insurance carriers.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Experience with Applied Epic, Power Broker, or similar brokerage management systems is an asset.

Fluent in English; Mandarin or Cantonese is an asset.
