Role Overview
A growing manufacturer in the sustainable materials sector is seeking a Vendor Relations & Purchasing Coordinator to support purchasing activities, supplier relationships, and external manufacturing partnerships.
This is a hands-on role that combines procurement, supply chain coordination, and relationship management. You'll work closely with vendors, production partners, and internal teams to ensure materials, projects, and supplier relationships stay on track. This is not a purely office-based purchasing position.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, vendor coordination, manufacturing, or a related role
- Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience coordinating purchase orders, deliveries, suppliers, or inventory
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- A proactive, self-starter attitude with a willingness to learn
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with plastics, polymers, resins, molding, or converting processes
- Mechanical aptitude or technical education
- Experience with ERP, MRP, or inventory management systems
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or Business
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners
- Coordinate purchasing activities for materials, equipment, and supplies
- Issue and track purchase orders and deliveries
- Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, availability, and technical requirements
- Act as a liaison between internal technical teams and external production partners
- Support product trials, projects, and ongoing operational initiatives
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with replenishment planning
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier documentation
- Resolve supplier issues, delivery delays, and invoice discrepancies
- Collaborate with operations, production, logistics, and technical teams
