JobSummary:
Welds as per blue prints and work orders; duties as assigned by Welding Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications
- Operate semi-automatic welding equipment for MIG welding application. I.E. gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW),
- Inspects completed weld to determine structural integrity
- Operate plasma cutters and oxy acetylene cutting torch
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of welding equipment as needed
- Assist in other departments when required
- Other duties as required. (Be assigned to other duties in other departments as required when work load is low).
Qualifications:
- Previous MIG welding experience in a manufacturing setting
- Experience with robotics is considered an asset
- Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
- Capable of using measuring instruments, calipers, etc.
- Ability read and write in English
- Basic mathematical skills required to ensure accuracy, and perform basic calculations
Working Conditions:
- 40 hour work week
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Extremely hot materials and intense light
