As an Intermediate Project Engineer/Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, gain hands-on experience, and develop both your technical and project management skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Successfully plan/execute small to medium size projects meeting all engineering quality, budget, and schedule constraints.
- Cultivate client trust by understanding client objectives and expectations, openly communicating, and providing regular progress updates.
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute ideas and solutions.
- Independently perform various process and mechanical calculations, reports, data analysis, and other technical tasks.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure project milestones are met on time, progress is documented, and action items are managed to completion.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of and stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Assist in proposal preparation and business development activities.
Requirements
- Understanding of relevant engineering and project management principles and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead a small team.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills to effectively run multiple small projects simultaneously.
Education/Experience
- Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university/college or diploma in similar program(s) from an accredited technical institute.
- 5-10 years of directly relevant experience.
- Registered as a Professional Member (P.Eng.) with APEGA or Professional Technologist (P.Tech.) with ASET.
- Familiarity with applicable codes/standards published by ASME, CSA, API, etc.
- Proficient with MS software suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project).
- Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract.
- Cross-discipline experience (project engineering/management, process, mechanical) considered a plus.
- Fabrication shop experience considered an asset.
- Familiarity with regulatory permitting processes and regulations considered an asset.
