Job Summary:
Reporting to the Vice-President, the Quality Engineer will support both compliance and operational functions. This includes audit inspections, CNC and production support, application analysis, and administrative assistance. This position will be based in Mississauga, with occasional travel to Oakville.
Job Functions (but not limited to):
- Conduct internal quality audits and support regulatory inspections.
- Perform first-off and in-process inspections.
- Assist with CNC programming and machining troubleshooting.
- Generate ISO vendor compliance reports.
- Create and maintain technical drawings (or assist in their creation).
- Complete PPAP submissions for automotive clients.
- Support root cause analysis and failure reports.
- Evaluate customer applications and recommend sealing/engineering solutions.
- Submit raw material and global spec forms as needed.
- Assist with order entry, PO creation, and part number setup.
- Maintain quality management documentation (SOPs, compliance reports, etc.)
- Collaborate with production, sales, and engineering teams.
- Follows standardized work and adheres to safe work practices and procedures. in a continuous improvement environment.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work well under pressure.
- Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate various types of machinery.
- Ability to effectively communicate detailed root cause(s)
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing is desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, high quality control standards and ability to adapt to new technologies.
- Adaptable to change and willing to cross-train and mentor new staff as required.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to read blue-print and technical manuals.
- Ability to follow precise instructions and prescriptions.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Intermediate-level proficiency in computer skills or a demonstrated ability to quickly acquire proficiency.
Qualifications:
- College or University degree/diploma in Engineering, Science or related field.
- Experience in quality assurance, compliance or related role.
- Experience with ISO 9001 and PPAP documentation preferred.
- Familiarity with CNC machining and technical drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook).
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal
