Job Overview
The Lamination Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial lamination equipment used to apply PVC film to vinyl extrusions for window and patio door components. This position ensures products meet quality standards, production targets, and all health and safety requirements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties
- Machine setup and operation- interpret the lamination production schedule and setup lines accordingly based off physical parts and coverage drawings
- Quality Control- Verify machine parameters meet setup standards, ensure bonding strength is adequate to prevent onsite adhesion loss, check laminated surfaces for visual defects and proper coverage
- Material handling- Load and unload raw materials and finished goods up to 50lbs
- Maintenance- Perform routine preventative maintenance on rollers and other parts of the machine
- Documentation and Systems- Assist in document standardization of setups, report production in ERP software (Syspro-MOM).
- Meeting daily production targets, maintaining quality standards, minimize rework and scrap, maintain machine uptime.
- Ensure compliance with all company and safety regulations, wear PPE at all times, follow LOTO procedures, report hazards/unsafe conditions/near misses immediately, maintain a clean work space and use 5s principles.
- Where applicable, ensuring 100% of material is produced following standard procedures and meets internal quality parameters.
- Work closely with fellow production team members and supporting teams (warehousing, quality, materials, etc.).
- Ensure any work space used is kept clean
Qualifications
- Experience- 1 year of hands-on machine operating experience- setting up, operating and cleaning industrial machines in a manufacturing environment
- Physical Stamina- Ability to stand for prolonged period of times and repeatedly lift loads up to 50lbs
- Mechanical and Math skills- Basic mechanical and math aptitude to be able to read calipers, rulers and gauges
- Safety and Compliance- Willingness to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and workplace safety protocols.
