For 45 years, Wabash Mfg. Inc. has been an industry leader and pioneer in custom manufacturing heavy duty mining support and fluid hauling equipment. We are seeking a positive, highly organized, detail oriented, Domestic and Export Shipping Specialist. This position will manage the international logistics, documentation, and compliance required to transport goods across borders. The Domestic and Export Shipping Specialist role will coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure timely delivery, prepare export declarations, and maintain compliance with foreign trade laws, as well as manage customer communication related to order fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities
- Documentation Management: Prepare, review, and process critical shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
- Logistics Coordination: Arrange and track international & domestic shipments with freight forwarders, carriers, providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Compliance & Customs: Ensure all exports adhere to international trade regulations, sanctions, restrictions, and customs laws.
- Classification: Classify goods under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes and prepare export declarations.
- Communication: Act as the liaison between internal departments (sales, parts, and production) and external partners (customs brokers, customers).
- Issue Resolution: Monitor shipment progress and resolve delays, customs holds, or shipping discrepancies.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in logistics, international trade, or import/export roles required.
- Understanding of customs regulations, Incoterms, and trade documentation.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office.
- Diploma in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
