Our client, based in Chesterville, is seeking Installers for a 6–8 week contract. The Installers (residential and commercial) will be responsible for assembling prefabricated modular homes and preparing them for shipment to northern locations in sea containers. There is potential for permanent hire based on performance.
Required skills and qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role (e.g., construction, landscaping, or related field)
- Strong English communication skills
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor issues
- Proficient in using hand and power tools, such as drills, screwdrivers, and pneumatic nail guns
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Must have reliable transportation (own vehicle required)
- Comfortable and accurate in using a measuring tape
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Assets:
- Previous experience operating a forklift is considered an asset
- Own PPE, including safety glasses, hard hat, and high-visibility vest
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Load and unload sea containers, involving manual handling and frequent heavy lifting of materials
- Move, stack, and organize items within containers and on site in a safe and efficient manner
- Install trim by measuring, aligning, and securing it in place using screws and appropriate tools
- Affix and install doors, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and secure fastening
- Accurately read and use a measuring tape to cut and install materials to required specifications
- Follow basic construction/assembly instructions and maintain attention to detail throughout tasks
- Performs other duties as assigned
Wage: $24.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday – 7:30am to 4:00pm
