Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Roofer/Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with roofing projects and general labor tasks on various job sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a willingness to learn new skills in the construction industry. Prior handyman or carpentry experience is a plus, and the ability to work safely and efficiently is essential.
Duties
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems using hand tools and power tools
- Perform heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, plywood, and other roofing supplies
- Read and interpret blueprints and project plans to ensure accurate execution of tasks
- Use caulking and sealing techniques to ensure waterproofing and weatherproofing of roofs
- Support carpentry tasks related to framing, sheathing, or structural repairs as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Assist with general construction tasks around the site, including material handling and site cleanup
- Follow instructions from supervisors to complete projects efficiently and safely
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools commonly used in roofing and construction work
- Experience in construction or carpentry is preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Knowledge of caulking techniques for waterproofing applications
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and prolonged standing or working at heights
- Handyman experience demonstrating versatility across various repair tasks
- Strong attention to safety procedures and ability to work in a team environment
- Willingness to learn new skills related to roofing and construction projects
